It's not necessarily that relevent in the context of things - Telstra's Mobile Broadband rates on Next G are typically twice the price of all the other networks anyway!

As for roaming it's a sham. There is no reason why we can't be paying in the realm of $2 per MB for mobile data, many foreign networks are now offering data bundles that are around this pricepoint. The days of $10 and $30 per MB should be banished to history!

Perhaps it is of more relevance to the people who get $1,500 - 2,000 bills from their MBB provider for overlimit fees, and believe me I talk to lots of people who have had these types of bills, and the issue is that it puts them off the technology where infact it is just greedy MBB providers eg. they will happily charge person 1 $50 per GB and person 2 $500 just because of the (small) amount of data they have pushed through their connection.

Johnr stated on the Vodafone forum that Vodafone didn't have to provide a usage meter (as it's been a bit broken for over a year) is it little wonder that people end up with crazy bills when the people providing the service don't even think they need to let people know their usage. In regards to data you're right athough even $2 seems too steep, most Aus MBB providers are charging 10c per MB casual - I still cannot work out why roamers are charged $10 per MB, that's why I have a telstra sim for the iphone and virgin for MBB when in OZ, telecom and vodafone make no money out of me when roaming and I would suggest a lot of others too.
