Hey peeps.

I recently scored myself the 2wire 2701HGV-W Gateway for free. As I don't particularly need it, I was hoping to sell it.

Tried looking for some details on how much these puppies are worth new and what they can do, but have not found all that much info.

I have also uncovered some pretty poor feedback about these things, so anything you can tell me about them would be swell.

Also, does this thing function solely as a wireless router?

Cheers.

I upgraded from a thompson to one of these and have found it pretty good, the sync speeds are about 4mbps faster - downloaded xp sp3 in under 3 minutes.

It has content filtering built in but I haven't managed to get that to work at this stage.

The bad feedback I think is more around the fact that they are locked to telecom, you can't change the username/password to a non-xtra one, there is however a firmware hack available.

The other thing is that these are only available to OEMs not to retailers.

Overall I am pretty happy with it, for me it performs pretty well.

Thanks for that.

Do you have any idea how much I could sell a brand new one of these for?
