So I am wanting a new router. I understand all this DMZ bull poo but is there really a router out there that can make things easier? Faster?
I game alot at the moment and I realise with telecom they have supplied me with the tg585 v7 which I think is absolute Sh$@. Compared to Orcons router this thing is nothing it is actually harder to use than orcons router and it doesn't have much functionality at all.
To let you know I have searched and searched on this forum and on google of course and have found that there really is no relevant information at all especially for the routers our country is selling. I have gone through trademe so if it is possible if you could show me any good routers on there that would be EXTREMLY HELPFULL! EXTREMELY!!!!. So to point out what I am looking for here is the bulletpoints
* DMZ (I currently only need my ps3 in the dmz but I can have my computer in there too it's just faster that way) TG585 can't put the ps3 in a easy dmz selection process
* Speed/Modem (Sometimes it does count on the inbuilt modem I have looked at my old orcon modem and it was actually getting faster connection speeds for some odd reason)
* Wireless (Only for computers but my main priority is the PS3 I want to host like crazy!) This really isn't a big deal but the family needs it.
* Price - I can spend $200 on one or maybe more but that really depends if there is a big diffrence with price
*Functionality - I want to do a whole lot I remember you could change the modem settings to annex m etc etc and do whatever the hell you want, it's quite restrictive with the tg585v7
*Gaming? - Well yeah main purpose is for gaming but then again the gaming routers or computers are usually the best in the market and usually made with the highest quality so a gaming router might be optional but is it worth it?
So I need your help with this one guys! I am totally confused on what to get and I am confused about all this jiba jabah that alot of these people put on their auctions. It's hard to tell the diffrence these days with new computer technology!
Thank you!
