Hi guys,

sorry if this is in the wrong location, but was hoping for some assistance please.

I have Windows Mail set up for my wife on our home PC (Vista Home) and in the last couple of days the outbound mail is simply backing up in teh out box and not getting sent.

I have checked the settings under the account and they match the settings provided on the gmail site for POP and SMTP.

The only thing that has changed in the last week has been moving from Vodafone to Telecom for broadband.

I have deleted and re-added the mail accounts for windows mail with the correct details for the gmail account and I don't get any errors when we hit send/receive, it simply does not take the outbox and send it.

Any suggestions/solutions would be appreciated

Thanks

I am pretty sure Telecom block SMTP (Port 25) from their Broadband Plans, your best bet is to make sure you are using SSL to communicate to the gmail servers (Port 465)

Or, just use webmail, that's all I do :D

Yeah double check you're using port 465 and SSL

smtp.gmail.com
465
This connection requires ssl (checked)

thanks guys, the ports were all correct, but after a bit of looking I realised there was a "stuck" email in the outbox which had caused an error, once i deleted the mail store and rebuilt it I could remove the offending email and away it went.
