Your DSL provider will be able to tell you that, it will be a 10 digit number beginning either with 1624 or 1690. It is also known as a FBN (Fictitious Billing Number)
Cheers, the Telecom call centre was very efficient in this instance, just had to run a two minute broadband line check and it was all done :D
Apparently my DSL provider _does not_ have this information or didn't feel like handing it out at least. I asked and they said it wasn't stored on my account information and I needed to contact Telecom.
It can be useful if you're switching providers and you have more than 1 line. Otherwise it isn't really nessesary as the new provider can just do an address lookup and get the ASID.
I thought they always needed it, the policy must have changed. Its a number invented to track the phone line since NDSL doesnt have an actual phone number.
