eg: 2mb/128k, 10GB = $48 seems ok untill you read the fine print:

Must switch all your tolls & homeline to them, must make minimum of $10 per month tolls, or they will just add $10 on to your bill!

Xnet already offer the same plan for $43 with free national data, and no compulsory tolls crap.

Edit: actually, for people who need 20, 30GB or more this could work out OK as you just pay $12 per 10GB as needed. Still a shame about the homeline switch requirement.

What bollux, at least ihug dont force you to actually use there overpriced toll call service, just have it on the line.

you actaully got a price?
i was in a loop with paradise saying "go to telsta.co.nz for pricing" and telstra saying "go to paradise.net.nz for pricing"

Oh get off the grass.... what's your issue with that...  Heavens sakes you guys moan about nothing...


I'm with Orcon with ADSL, have to have their tolls to get $10 off the plan cost and then end up getting billed for local calls because of some crap between Telecom and Orcon over local call stuff.

So far I don't think Orcon have charged us, but I still have to query it every time, I still have to put up with my wife going off at me everytime the bill comes in via email saying we owe over $100 for our ADSL and few tolls calls...

I'm about to cancel the Orcon acccount and sign back up with Xtra even if it costs me $30 more per month for the same value because I'm sick of my wife getting pissed off at me just because I try to support come competition.

My problem is its bad enough I have to pay for a phone line I don’t use but having to pay for tolls too! That’s what I have a cell phone for!

Sorry, your wife is not my concern.

Part of the problem is that the current resell options leave so little margin that ISP's need to sell Toll services (at a very good margin) to compensate for that.

Roll on Naked ADSL!

Get off the grass?? You do realise they have a valid concern? You just seem to have an issue with your wife, don't you think she will be more pissed off now you're going to be paying an extra $30?
 
Its not like Orcon have actually charged you anything extra its just showing on your bill. The probelms people have with TelstraClear really seem a lot bigger than than something you don't have to pay.

My apologies if your name is Richard, was not directed at you, but rather a quote from the McD's adds.

I would have an issue with this as well. I know quite a few people who make absolutely no toll calls now since any such calls would only be to a mobile and it's cheaper to just use your mobile to call. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe TCL are the first to introduce a minimum $10 spend, I believe several other ISP's had introduced such a clause in the past.

Of course... I think perhaps you should have seen the grin on my face as I was typing.... where's that damb web cam?

You would have thought so.... however after 6 months fighting with a Woosh system, she's about had enough trying to support compition and ready to start printing "Go The Monopoly" posters.

Actually they did expect us to pay untill I phoned them, it was just a delay in their billing that meant it didn't happen before I phone them.... but how expensive is it going to get for them if I have to keep phoning up to ask for a credit?
