Hi There!

I may be being dense, but I am trying to determine the time line to VDSL at my Office, so I went to the site and typed in our address (or close to it), of 65 Upper Queen St. It says presently ADSL2+ is available and I went to VDSL and I see a bunch of Cabinets/Upgrades planned for Sept 2011, but I can't see which cabinet covers my specific address. Am I being dense?

According to the Telecom Wholesale mobile site, you are running from AK/Exchange, ergo not a cabinet.

You'll be running off the Exchange there from Mayoral Drive i would imagine. In fact, I have 2 VDSL lines that I thought both would be serviced from a cabient bu in fact they are serviced from a central Exchange. I'd ring up your ISP and get them to check but more than likely you can get it now.

Also might be worth checking out UFB following on from this:

You may actually be able to get fibre for UFB prices NOW:

Thanks, I had a look at that second link, and I see I am covered by Chorus UFB Zones, and also Chorus Business Fibre, so how do I go about getting pricing for that?

The first link seems to exclude me.

I would think I would be a reasonable distance away from the Mayoral Drive Exchange, meaning I wouldn't get decent VDSL Speeds anyways?

Ask any half decent ISP and they should be able to look into this for you. It was only announced today remember so I'm not sure how much has filtered down to the ISPs yet! You could talk to Unleash, Orcon, Maxnet, ICONZ, NZ Net etc. Wouldn't bother with Telecom/Telstra - will probably take those 2 5 years to start offering UFB services.....

I'll contact Unleash, they were excellent with my VDSL2+ Install at home.
