Fraktul: That sounds pretty much like 256kbps bang on less ethernet, ip and tcp overhead.

Fraktul: Yeah I'm saying it almost looks like your shaped to 256kbps upstream.

barf: It is important not to completely trust these web-based speed tests. As you are not in control of at least one end of the test, it can not be a real benchmark.
Fraktul: Well I would hope I'm in control of at least my end.
/me sits and panics about lack of control at his pc
lchiu7: Agreed - quite cool looking. And it confirmed something for me also.
On TCL's 4Mbs/2Mbs plan using the NZ speed test I get about 2288/1189kbs (this is in peak time so understandably not as fast as it could be). But when I use this new test, I can't get over about 270kbs upload to any test site (tried LA, London and Sydney). Even with the peak times now and international sites, with a supposed 2Mbs upload speed, I ought to be able to do better than 270kbs or about 1/8 of what I should be getting.
Just as another data point I tried dslreports. Got the following:
http://www.dslreports.com/stest?loc=1
1250 / 1010
Your download speed : 1250 kbps or 156.3 KB/sec.
Your upload speed : 1010 kbps or 126.2 KB/sec.
Just wonder what others on TCL plans are getting for upload speeds? What is the relationship between speed tests and real world? As I noted in another post, I have never been able to upload data faster than about 30KB/sec which is unacceptable really given we are supposed to have a 2Mbs upload speed.
