I have a Netcomm wireless N modem/router and am currently with Actrix and every night it likes to reset itself... It has done this the last 3 nights I  have been playing BF3 with friends but has also happened before.

If it doesnt get done what it wants to do it will connect for 5 secs, then reset again until it gets done with whatever. At that stage it will be fine until say... 12.30am ish and will often disconnect again and again often related with a zero hour.

Any ideas as to whats causing this? Modem setting? Dodgy modem? something with Actrix?

Does your isp force a IP change at mid night?

Is this an actual DSL disconnection? Or the modem resetting itself? Both have entirely different causes so it's essential to know what one it is.

If the DSL light goes out, but the power remains lit, the most likely culprit is something regularly grabbing the phone line at a certain time.

A common one would be a monitored house alarm.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

AC Nielsen scanner is connected with a RJ11 to a fat phone cable to a 2x fat phone adapter (shared with phone)
Phone is connected to answering machine then a ADSL filter to the adapter aforementioned
My Sky+ has no filters on it that I can see

@mckenndk
They dont force IP changes as far as customer service is aware

By the looks of your setup the box will be the culprit, especially if out has no filter.

See if you can unplug all those devices for 24-48 hours, and see what happens. Given it's happening at the same time every day, it should be fairly easy to track down. Something that grabs the line at the expense of everything else (cutting everything else off) would be more common to kill the DSL signal, but something that generates unwanted noise on the line could have the same effect, such as your Sky or AC Neilson box.

IF this does solve your problem, the best solution to fix it is a master DSL filter (splitter) installation, so that the feed to your modem comes off before any of the other unwanted interferance.

My bet is probably on the scanner, it likes to beep a lot and sometimes we have to turn modem off for a few minutes to allow it to send its data

*Every* device other than your modem needs a filter.

Unplugged the scanner last night and I may or may not have been playing Skyrim so it wasnt even under the usual "crash the modem" BF3 + Skype scenario but I didnt notice any resets/disconnects

Got a boatload of cables so ill try finding something that allows me to take the filter off the modem and on the scanner and My Sky

Also the ISP said there were a lot of disconnects and reconnects but I assume the modem resetting would reflect this as well as DSL disconnects?
