Parents are finally coming to their senses somewhat wanting a better deal on internet/landline

They are considering dropping the landline altogether so naked broadband is an option. We currently only use the landline so my mum to talk to her parents in Wellington, we're in Auckland

We would need 35 GB of data, preferably southwards of $100

Not too fussed on which ISP unless they have a reputation a lot worse than slingshot's (I'd consider using them)

What do other people think of that $75 Telstraclear deal? Can't find the T&Cs so it's average till I find out more...

Any and all suggestions welcome

Can't beat that Telstra deal at the moment. I don't have anything bad to say about them. Most of our customers that are on TC are very happy with them.

I have been in Telstraclear in the past, back in the PDQ days, they were pretty nice I admit. Not sure Id go back to them...

What about Snap? I can get Naked BB with 35GB data and unlimited youtube for $90 or there is the Slingshot naked unlimited for $90 as well

the Telstraclear offer is very good, but just be aware that the 40GB free only lasts for 12months. Once the 12 months is up you will automatically start paying $30/month extra.

Check out the Vodafone Naked Broadband. Its quite a good deal with the free MySKY and all. https://www.vodafone.co.nz/naked-broadband/

I suggest Slingshot. Their speed and support has much improved these days.
I've had no problems with them for quite a long time.

$90 for naked unlimited(data not speed).

$91 for 50GB with a home line.

I'd be using TelstraClear if that offer was extended to my area.

However, they do not, so I choose Xnet Fusion - $69.95 for naked broadband, includes 1 VOIP landline, then $1.28 per GB of data used. You could only use around 23-24GB per month to stay under your $100 monthly limit, but when I compare that to the premium prices Telecom offer because I'm just outside of AKL, and you need to have a POTS line to have ADSL, I feel I'm getting a good deal when I'm personally paying around $30 less a month.

Hey, if I was really pushing Xnet, I'd give you my username, because they give me credit if I refer someone to them, haha!

you can switch to telecom and get a free tivo worth $499 ... not sure what the fine prints are - can't find them, not printed!

As lostangel said I'm leaning towards Slingshot, can't beat 50GB + landline for $85. Got a friend nearby on them that gets 1 MB/s plus and as long as its over 500 KB/s, speed doesn't matter too much to me

Telstraclear I am not overly keen on switching to them, even though I can't think of a decent reason not to

Tivo as far as I know (and care) is just a glorified Freeview reciever, I know I'm wrong but yea..

Hmmm... "FREE iTalk VOIP access when you have Broadband NAKED" with Slingshot, able to port numbers, yea I'm pretty much sold on unlimited naked...

I wonder if your parents will be so keen on naked DSL for a fone line when it falls over and you have no fone service for minute ~ hours??

Just a quick thought, Do you by any chance have a Vodafone mobile on contract? Could be you or the parents, Your own or business issued.

Can get you a significant discount ($35 or so) on Naked Broadband with Vodafone.

True, Xnet does only become cheap for certain amounts of data usage.

Nah, none of us have a mobile contract with Vodafone

Xnet seems expensive, I remember the pricing wowing me in the worldxchange or something days, pretty sure it is the same guys

Anyone had any experience with iTalk (damn apple references) or am I better off creating a new thread in the slingshot forum?
