Have this strange problem with volume levels, all online video - Netflix, Youtube etc the volume is low, but for music playback e.g. Spotify,  the volume is fine. I have my PC connected to my Onkyo amp with its volume level at 50.

All mixer levels are at 100, and Realtek HD Manager levels are also at 100.

Any ideas why?

Using Windows 7? Have you tried launching the volume mixer application while you're playing video and making sure that the volume for your browser itself has not been lowered? (Applications disappear off the mixer options if they don't play audio for a while).

Just in case, its an obvious thing to check but quickflix, youtube, etc, all have volume controls of their own.

yep I know, all volumes are at 100%, but fixed it now, by going into speaker properties, enhancements and choosing Loudness Equalization in control panel.

Yeah except that now is compressing the audio so that its constantly hitting 0dB, and it also renders in app volume controls useless as if they are turned down then the compression will just bring it back up again.
