I'm looking to upgrade the primary drive in my one-bay NAS (I think it's a QNAP TS-119). The "plan" is to use an e-Sata dock to connect the new, larger drive to the NAS, and then turn on Q-Raid to mirror the primary drive to the new drive, and then to swap the drives over. My thinking is that the new drive will then be recognised as the new primary drive.
I've checked online and it sounds like it might not be as straightforward as that, with some people reporting that the new drive doesn't get recognised. I'm hoping there might be some others here who know for certain whether this would work (from experience) or who can suggest an alternative, equally painless, way of upgrading the primary drive.
