Hi guys.

I have a serious issue here.

I do on occasion access pornographic websites, (Which quite a large amount of you geekzoners also do, but not admit to) but I have NEVER gone into anything illegal, and usually I use Firefox, but in this instance I was on Google Chrome..

The suggestions that google gives, is utterly unacceptable, and it makes me sick to my stomach, that a company that usually is so against such content, and having suggestions coming up in plain view.
IF this was made public it would embarrass them.

Those were two suggestions I stumbled on accidently, and I don't know who to speak to.

Google doesn't have any ways to contact them, I alerted Netsafe, they have to get back to me, and I also alerted the Daily Mail (As a big company who claims to do all their best to avoid such stuff, and it coming out in plain site, is unacceptable, and people need to be aware)

No I didn't search for any of them, but it's just shocking.

Thanks

You reported this to Netsafe and probably the best course of action really.

You should take into account that these suggestions are from automated computer systems and databases that have little human intervention for filtering and censoring.

Every time someone enters a search query it gets analyzed and placed into the system. If a large number of people use the same query then it'll be placed higher in the recommendations.

That means there are a fk ton of people using that search term. :-/

You could turn off "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar or the app launcher search box" in Chrome.
Found under Settings -> Advanced settings.

Yeah, it sort of is.... there's no search results, it's just auto complete. Which, as was mentioned above, shows that there are some sick f***s that search for that stuff.

I'll repeat it.. they are NOT results.

LMFAO

Sooo you are trying to embarrass them?
It's what people search for, probably in the last hour.
As has been mentioned, these are operated by a machine, and probably pop up faster than google could shut them down.

In future, turn off auto complete and use incognito mode.

I bet the only reason it snuck through the filters is the lack of space between the first two words. This is a non-issue. The filters will be updated and the world will keep spinning.

People might start to get concerned that you are still looking ....

;-)

But read what people said above, it's an automated search response, you can disable it if it upsets you so much.
