Can't find a section for this thread so I'm posting it here, moderators feel free to move me if necessary :)

I want to know if anybody has any experience with SEO companies. I'd really like my website to rank much higher on Google searches and Adwords is not only expensive, but Google seems to just throw random search terms in which leads to me paying for clicks that aren't really potential customers.

I'm bombarded every week by some telesales person trying to sell me SEO services but now I'm looking for a company, I find it hard to choose one as I can see there are quite a few cowboys out there.

Just to be clear, I don't need any advice on how to do it myself, I just want to know if anybody has experience with SEO companies, which ones they have used and how much I would expect to pay.

I don't know much about anything but I'll give it a go.
