Im having difficulty with the installation of Drupal, the website creation program.

I have installed XAMPP package for my web server, php and data server - I want it to be a local set up so i can run it off of my laptop to start of to try it out before uploading to the internet.

But im confused what to do next...

Anyone else know how to do it?

Thanks for your time.

Read the manual :)

Unpack drupal to your htdocs directory.

Most PHP packages will initiate the setup by you browsing to something along the lines of :
http://localhost/drupal/setup (or /install) and follow your nose from there :)

I tried both of those things and it didn't work.
I used the http://localhost/ then file root to the install.php file. But it came up with an error message:

Your web server does not appear to support any common database types

Doing that same thing in IE and not Opera take me to the XAMPP page, which says that my servers and php are working...

Have you started the MySQL process?

Where did you download Xampp from ? It almost sounds like your apache httpd.conf is missing/edited out the support.
