Hiya everyone,

Hoping you can help me.

My microSD card has been working fine and I just put it in my phone, which it said something to the affect of "Can't read format of card - Need to format card", so I put it in my PC and it also needs to format it because it can't recognise the format or something.

There's a bunch of photos from all different times on there which (yeah, i'm an idiot) aren't backed up.

Is there any way to access the card and get my photos?

Thanks in advance.

I'd say perhaps try Testdisk - I'm not sure whether it would work with flash memory but I assume it would. I've had a hard drive do the same thing and I fixed the uh, file allocation table with this lil' miracle.

Good luck either way :D

I've had good success on an SD card with similar symptoms, with Runtime Software's GetDataBack product - www.runtime.org. Not free though.

Sometimes I find even just inserting it in an *external* card reader can work too.

I did think of this, even though it didn't work in the phone.

I picked up an external card reader from work yesterday before I posted this topic, it didn't work.

May work for some people in some cases, but didn't for this one.

Not to worry though, I got my files back.
