I'd pick Samsung's, won't go wrong with their reputable LCD technology.

I have one of these - it's nice and fast, the colours are bright (I also have a 20" Philips widescreen next to it, the LG has a much nicer picture), and it's 16:10. It's primarily a dev machine but I also do a bit of photo editing on it, the extra vertical real estate comes in handy.

What are you going to be using it for gaming or just web browsing?
Out of the monitors the Samsung looks best but I cant see anything about HDMI input with this Monitor if you really want HDMI, but its still HD

CR is just as useless as PMPO.  It is a theoretical maximum ignoring picture quality.

Best is to put screens next to each other with the same digital signal source and then play with the settings to see if you can make it look good for what you want to use it.  There is also a difference between what is good for video, desktop, CAD, etc.  It all depends on what you need it for.

Samsung is always safe.  The ones with a P in the model number and/or narrow square edge is the professional series for CAD use, the shiny rounded rose edge is usually for video use.

I'd go for the Samsung LED, but wait for the next model.  A bit pricey, but if money was no object...
