Hi,

I recently bought this HDD as an external HDD, effectively just it in a standard enclosure.

Initially it was giving me problems externally; disconnecting mid way through transfers etc. So I decided to put it into my desktop and see if it worked.

With all the power disconnected I connected it up as usual and turned the computer on and it didnt spin up. I put it back in the enclosure and nothing.

I thought it was initially the thing was faulty from the beginning so I managed to get a replacement however when I tried to put this one into the computer the same thing happened. Only this time my files were all on it...

I have heard that this is sometimes the logic board and you can swap this out for another one exactly the same and it sometimes works.

I am wondering whether anyone has a similar junked HDD with the same logic board. On the logic board side it has the barcode with PADWD8L7A20697.

If someone has one of these drives and knows if it will work please advise. I am really annoyed I ruined it again.... I wont be able to exchange it again as this is obviously something I have done.

If you need any extra info let me know. I am pretty desperate to be able to get this working again so I can get some photos off without taking it to a professional.
