Hello Everyone,

We are having problems with MYOB Premium Enterprise v6 Build H (Latest version and build) crashing for one user on Terminal Server.

We logged a call with their helpdesk but the girl had trouble understanding that the data and application which are running on a Terminal Server means that the other users arn't connecting across the network to access the data.

We have been getting errors similar to this

  • Faulting application Myobp.exe, version 12.2.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x35f753d4.

  • Faulting application Myobp.exe, version 12.2.0.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.3790.3959, fault address 0x00038173.

  • Reporting queued error: faulting application Myobp.exe, version 12.2.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x35f753d4.

  • Reporting queued error: faulting application Myobp.exe, version 12.2.0.0, faulting module Myobp.exe, version 12.2.0.0, fault address 0x00215898.

Which we reported to MYOB. They claim that since the errors are put in the event log by Microsoft, that this is a Windows fault and they sent us the following link for our 'it people' to resolve, which is a eventid.net page...

http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1004&eventno=1990&source=Application%20Error&phase=1

Is anyone else having problems similar to this? Is there a workaround or solution, or alternatively has anyone had any luck getting actual support out of MYOB for their program crashes?

This is a clean build of Terminal Server done a month or two ago with the latest Service Packs and security updates and with nothing else installed apart from Microsoft Office 2003, ClickYes which is required for e-mailing from MYOB because they have not updated MYOB in the last 10 years to support the Outlook Security Update to stop I Love U virus, and Quicktime which is required for e-mailing from MYOB if you have a logo on your invoice.

So if a fault is logged by someone else then it's not their problem? I really have to feel sorry for people using their systems then.

(Sorry, not really helping your case, I know).

We just had to shell out hundreds of dollars for a third party tool (ClickYes) for our users to be able to EMAIL from MYOB because Outlook pops up a security warning and has done for the last 10 years because MYOB has not updated their software.

Aparently over a decade later they are releasing a *NEW* version which will support e-mailing more than 2 invoices a minute. w00t!

MYOB Really has grown too bloated as a company... Go the Xero!

I got this in response... Sigh... Looks like it's Microsoft's fault, and MYOB was only AFFECTED by this problem with Windows...

What was attempting to convey to you is this is a windows error.
The Event ID tells us what the cause of the problem was and the description tells us what was affected by that problem.

So Event ID 1000 was the cause and because of that cause the myobp.exe was affected.
This is a error inside your windows system or computer, not inside the software.

In most cases we are unable to support errors outside of the software as there could be a hundred reasons for it to be happening but as ID 1000 is very common, (often relating to a memory or ram issue in the machine) ,the link Ann sent you is the website that I use to look up these ID?s so that is a starting point for your IT people to troubleshoot.

I have dealt with MYOB in the past and have had no issues at all.

From what I understand they have an indepth database of error codes produced by their software, also the people that I have dealt with have known their stuff with the running of the software.

Rather than adding fuel to the fire, may I suggest you try re-create the TS profile and see if it works - or create a test account.

Do you have a workstation in the network you can test the software on?

May I recommend a humble reboot of the terminal server, unless of course you have already tried this?

Also, if the reboot doesnt work, try running in compatibility mode to see if that helps?

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

Good call, my next step was to recreate the Terminal Server profile for that user because it does seem user specific. :-) Otherwise the next step is to rebuild the Terminal Server...Again.. in a new VM. And check the RAM hehe.

I get the fact that we are probably the only ones hitting this issue otherwise it would be more commonly known about at the MYOB helpdesk so it's not a big drama they don't know whats causing it, what does rub me is the 'it's not our software and even Windows says that' response.
