Saw a recent warning advising that commercial copy machines contain hard drives which contain a record/copy of every operation performed. My question is whether standard printer-copiers attached to our computers also contain hard drives. If they do, then they warrant special consideration when disposing of them. I don't think there are HDD on small multifunction printer-copiers.

Those large printers have HDD to serve lots of functions. For example some of them automatically copy and bind books, so they need a storage device for those pages while doing it. Also some machines can email scanned documents, again they have to store somewhere.

But you are right - those large machines can be a serious breach of privacy if left like this.
