Giday everyone here,

I would like some help with my setup, the problem:

I purchase two ultra320 SCSI harddrives and Adaptec Ultra320 card with capacity of 15 drives,

I download it drivers from Adaptec for windows 7 64bit

when i start the installation windows 7 starts installing but half way the install it stops and reverses the process and i get the message that the drivers are not sign so therefore can't install windows in the device.

How can i force windows 7 64bit install to accept the drivers?

thank you in advance,

Andy

When installing Windows 7 there is an option to install a third party driver from usb or cd.

If I remember correctly it's called "Load Driver" on the screen where you are selecting what disk to install on.

Edit:  This is the screen I think, see the load driver button/link

you are right this is the screen where i get stuck, when i boot from DVD and i select load driver
then saids   "to install windows 7 32 and 64 bit in this device you need to use signed driver then only the option ok and the load is cancelled.

but i bough this card and drives because are compatible, Adaptec even provides the windows 7 32 and 64 versions??

Note: steps i followed. 1 load drivers, next screen browse or search drivers on this screen has a box selected that says hide incompatible drivers (not compatible) 3 the screen comes with the drivers and i selected then message " to install windows 7 32 and 64 bit in this device you need to use signed driver then only the option ok and the load is cancelled"

thanks

Andy

I would double check you have downloaded the right driver for the model of your SCSI card. There are several different ultra 320 models.

Just to check, you have run the driver exe to extract the files and stored them on a USB thumb drive or CD for use with the load driver option during Windows 7 installation?

firmware/bios for the adaptec card. while you're at it, it might also be worth making sure you are running latest bios for your PC too

I download it today but can't update bios as i'm running windows 7 64 bit and this is the message i get
can't run this application as is incompatible with 64bit operating systems, and on the top of that warning windows i can see the title   Unsupported 16bit application.. I thought modern 64bit win7 could manage this kind of things. what should i try now.

I tried to install xp64bit same problem so i got vista 32bit on dvd but vista is not in the list of supported os.

cheers,

Andy
