Hello,

I got a 300GB external USB 2.0 hard drive from trade me. Don't use it so often. I used once to back up my computer.

This week when I want to do my scheduled back up (Vista). Half-way during the back up, suddenly I heard the noise of external device safely removed... if you know what i mean...when I see on my computer, my external drive suddenly become undetected... so the back up fail and error message something like "back up failure, destination does not exist.." come out... waste of time...

Same thing also happen when I want to transfer big file >400MB... It fail in the middle of the process... Since last week I only manage to make it work once... not sure how.. most of the time the error come out...

Is that mean my hard drive is broken? Any help?

Thanks!

Usually yes,

IME people only sell drives when they are partially stuffed.
