I have a TYAN motherboard with 2x INTEL XEON CPU's (mPGAa) with INTEL passive heatsink & fan. Is there anyway or method to reduce the speed of the fans to half with out completely replacing the heatsink & fans? Thanks

Speed controllers? of if you are knowledgeable in the electronics department you could connect a small pot across the fan wires to make a variable voltage divider thus slowing the fans down. although because the fans are in a server that will be running 24/7(i assume it will be) then it may not be a good idea to reduce the fan speed as the processors may overheat.

you could try downloading speedfan

"SpeedFan can access digital temperature sensors and can change fan speeds accordingly, thus reducing noise"
