Hi;
I know it's an old topic but I got a call from a 'computer tech' from 'global it solutions' tonight.
According to them my pc was sending them a signal and blah, blah, bloody blah......

I had to post this as I got him to stay on the phone with me for an hour and a half. Eventually he asked me to read the message in the warning screen and I said that I can't read to well but it says something like " Go and f*@# yourself". He asked me to repeat the message and I shouted it at him. At first he was takne aback but then proceeded to start abusing me. At that point I put the phone on the table and left it for about 10 minutes before I picked it up again. The idiot was still on the phone. I told him that he needs to call back and hung up. I was very happy to waste their time.

Ha ha yeah I did the same kind of thing.

I only kept it going for half an hour because I was missing Misfits.

I told him to wait while I pretended to reboot the PC about twenty times "just to be on the safe side". It was driving him nuts.

I thanked him for calling personally "Because you can't be too careful nowadays, and really I appreciate the personal approach"!

"I'm not very good with computers - oops I think I've pressed the wrong button or something...the computers restarting again...sorry..."

"ooh gosh I've never gone into these menus before! Are you sure it's okay? I hope you're going to tell me what to do....Oh...I think I pressed that X in the top corner by mistake...how do you get back to that screen again?....What?....Oh sorry I thought you said reboot....hang on a tic it's quite slow....do you think that's part of the problem you called me about?"

When I finally told him I knew it was a scam, and I was just keeping him talking so he couldn't call someone else, he put me onto "his supervisor" - all credit to her - she kept trying valiantly.
