invisibleman18: So will this not work on Vodafone or is it just coming to Spark first?
Shoes2468:BrentR: The Spark 830 will support their 700mhz 4G band.
Does this mean that inherently this device will work on other carriers 700mhz 4G when it is deployed also?

coffeebaron: So basically no reason for it not to work on other LTE 700 band 28 networks other than the Spark variant has locked out LTE for other providers?
Oeo: Looks like a charging plate is bundled with the Lumia 830:

coffeebaron: So has Spark locked out band 28 for other providers? Or have they got some weird configuration on their network, perhaps running US 700 too or something?

There is a Band A and B, with Spark using Band B, there is no "locking out" Spark bought more spectrum than other parties. This handset variant was built for this band.

OK, that makes some sense now; though the specs here http://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/mobile/phone/lumia830/ still say Band 28, rather than Band 28B.
So what is the technical reason for this phone only do half the band?
What band is Vodafone then? 28A I guess?
