Got GDR2 this morning on my Vodafone 820. All seems to be working except for one thing.

My Settings screen is broke. After a couple of minutes it locks up. I can back out. But after that it is just a blank screen.

Shutting down the phone doesn't work because the Goodbye screen just keeps displaying.

They only way to fix is is to pull the battery out.

And the cycle begins again.

Sigh.

I'd check you have the most up to date Nokia settings modules, there are some QR code links on wpcentral somewhere.

Otherwise it might be a hard reset :/

After updating and resetting the phone. My per hour drain rate is 6.3% with data and wifi on.

This is much higher than before....

Have you enabled the glance screen and/or double tap to wake?
I believe double tap is pretty hungry, and I suspect glance is too.

So I see the amber update is now available in NZ:

http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/wp8-availability-in-asia-pacific/
New Zealand
Product      Description      Latest version               Lumia Amber update
Lumia 520  Telecom          1030.6408.1309.0004   Waiting for approval
Lumia 820  Vodafone         3047.0000.1328.3009  Available
Lumia 920  Telecom          3047.0000.1326.2009   Available

I have a Lumia 920 on Vodafone, but when I check for Updates, none are available.

Anyone know when the update to Vodafone for the 920 will come (or how I can get it without resorting to flashing?)

Thanks in advance ....

As I understand it, it is somewhat controlled by the carrier that sold the phone... So if your's is a Telecom 920 you should have it now (or very soon) I think... If it's unbranded then I think the wait is still under way... If it's from another carrier then check here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/wp8-availability-in-asia-pacific/

To find out original carrier go settings - extras + info - more info and see what's under "Manufacturer name" and/or "mobile operator" - my operator is listed as TEL-NZ.

I believe that should lead you in the right direction anyway....

Righto thanks ... My 920 came from Australia (unlocked) - the carrier shows as 'Australia' and the mobile Operator shows as '000-AU'.

So I guess I will have to wait until the Australia "Country variant" becomes available - currently showing as 'Coming Soon'.

I'd say so... Coming soon is pretty close to "available" so I wouldn't think you have long to wait :)

Thanks ...

Actually I mis-read the nokia page (being a bit too hopeful) - it's showing as:

Lumia 920Country variant1232.5962.1314.0004Waiting for approval

Oh well, it will be worth the wait to be able to listen to my work voicemails .... :p.

You have an open market unlocked phone which will be approved by Nokia Australia once they've worked with carriers in the region
