Has Telecom got an official date that these will be released for phones here?

Or are we going to have to wait like 6 months after it's actually released to get them? (just like portico)

It's been in testing and coming out very soon. Will reply back when we can discuss exact dates.

Anybody know what we can expect in the update?

Or when people on other networks can expect it?

I have a 925 that already ships with GDR2 and heres what I've noticed

FM Radio
WAV file voicemail playback
fixed Other storage problem
SMS/phone call blocking filters
Datasense

then Nokia Amber adds:
Glance screen with time
flip to silence
double tap screen to turn phone on
video trimmer app
Nokia Smart Camera app can be set as default

FM Radio

This might be a dumb question but I would have thought FM Radio was a hardware rather than a software thing? I have read about it in regards to this update before and it would be great.

Hardware and software related. Some phones have the hardware for FM, but software that doesn't support it yet. GDR2 will fix that.

WP7 had FM radio, WP7 was built on top of WindowsCE OS, when we ported WP across to "big Windows" on the NT kernel or what is called the Common Core for WP8, initially not every single feature made it across, due to timings for rewriting the code

FM Radio was one of the features cut initially, and is now back in GDR2

And most of the WP8 hardware has the FM chips. On the Nokia side of things IIRC it's just the 620 lacking the FM hardware chips.

i flashed the nokia dev rom of NSU onto my telecom 920 when they put them online for a few hours.
Battery life is such a big improvement! i can push 2 days out if it quite easily if im using it lightly and thats with the new glance clock on aswell. The new nokia camera app is a huge improvement aswell. Very impressed so far.

I've got a Vodafone 820, but with a Telecom SIM.

Which telco do I need to wait for to sign off on the upgrade?

Hi guys, I'm new here!

Good to hear that Telecom is testing the Amber update as the official Nokia sources don't really say much at all...

http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/wp8-availability-in-asia-pacific/

I updated extras + info just the other day and it broke notifications for Wechat so I'm really hoping to get the firmware update which might solve the issue. Battery life has gotten worse since. :(
