Ok Geekzone, time to help me make a decision.
I currently have a 5th gen iPod Nano 16gb and an LG Optimus ME. The iPod’s battery is on its way to the big powercell in the sky (only managing a few hours on charge) and its storage is now too small to house my music collection. The Optimus ME is possibly the worst piece of electronic equipment ever to cause me grief; the lag is unforgivable, the storage hopeless and it constantly misses button presses etc.
I plan to retire the iPod and cast the Optimus into a volcano and replace both with one Lumia Windows Phone.
And here is the crux of my conundrum, do I buy a Lumia 800 or stump up for a 820?
_____________
800:
Pros: It’s dimensioned perfectly, I prefer the design, it will be very cheap when WP8 hits.
Cons: It doesn’t have an equalizer and sound quality is poor (unless high resistance headphones are used); Storage will be even smaller than the iPod and that will be very frustrating.
820:
Pros: Storage size is fantastic, Uses WP8 with all the benefits of that, has an equalizer and Dolby tech for music.
Cons: It’s bigger than I would like (both taller and wider), it will be at least 3 times more expensive than the 800 on release (I’m expecting it to retail at $870+).
_____________
Just so ya’ll know, most of the new features of WP8 over WP7.8 don’t matter much to me; The main factors for me are Price, Music Quality and Storage.
Can anyone share an opinion? I can’t decide between limited functionality and fantastic price or complete functionality and exorbitant price. I’m a student and will be getting a Surface pro tablet. Will there be any additional benefit in having both a WP8 Phone and a W8 Tablet, or is tethering the only thing that a phone assists a tablet with? Does anyone know if Nokia's new equalizer is coming during the 7.8 update?
Cheers guys!
