Hi,

I was given a NZ Telecom HTC Harrier PH20A2 by a friend who is heading overseas.
 
Software:

Running Windows2003CE

No Telecom CD's with the phone (or any other CD's).

HTC Harrier Info:

ROM version: 1.29.00 WWE
ROM date: 09/24/04
Radio version: HA01_136

Problems:

1. Sound works on phone. Can hear Telecom robot voice :) No sound on PPC side - games, apps..etc.
2. Keyboard also does not work. Software keyboards won't stay open (only the full screen keyboard will)
3. Reporting Model No: PH20A1 (instead of PH20A2) upgrade attempts report model error.

I have managed in the last week to install some neat software (seega emulator) & learnt a little about what it can do. I guess they're old now but I'm interested & my 5 year son loves playing games on it. The problem is that it is now reporting the model as PH20A1 after an aborted flash upgrade to newest version & reflash of an incorrect ROM. It was stuck in boot loader mode I believe for a day while I tried to figure out how to restore it. Stumbled across mtty.exe? (i think that was the tool). Managed to follow a couple of commands & get the phone to reformat itself & startup on reset.

I have read numerous posts but have not seen a resolution. I have contacted telecom regarding finding access via their site to the original ROM. No luck. Was told to take it in to a telecom store.

Any ideas apart from take it into get repaired would be greatly appreciated. I am really thinking of putting a website together dedicated to this little toy (HTC Harrier) if I can get it updated again.
