Hi all,

Sorry if I'm in the wrong forum. I just got a Nokia 3100 and saw it had a sound recorder. I figured I could record real music and use it as a ringtone. It sounds horrible. I couldn't believe that Nokia advertised it on the side of the box as being able to do that. Anyway, I did research about using real songs as ringtones. I downloaded the Nokia Multimedia converter. I turned an MP3 into an AMR. Now, would I have to run out and buy a cable to put it on my phone before knowing how it would sound, or is there a place on the net I can upload my AMR and download it to my phone? Also, does anybody know what kind of quality the sound will be if I do it this way?

Thanks,

Mike

The way I do it with my 6600 is by storing the file on an MMC card via my digital camera (not suer if yours can take a memory card). I don't have a card reader so I connect my digi cam to my pc thru usb and copy the files (whatever format) to the card then take out the card and place in the phone... works great.
