What with all the different threads about the N95 and GPS, apps and maps etc all filling up to a large number of pages I thought I'd start yet another one about the different Applications people are using on their N95s.

So then, What applications do you have on your N95 and which is the most useful?

I'd also be interested to know whether people have been successful with using older S60 2nd edition software on their phones?

At the moment I've got:

- Gmail for Mobile
- MgMaps (I've downloaded zoom level 9/10 for all of NZ and 15/16 for a large part of the area around auckland if you're interested PM me)
- Fring (quite a useful voIP app for connecting to skype and msn)
- Sports Tracker (for GPS)

So far, I think the gmail client is the most useful for me. Definitely much easier and nicer than logging in through the WAP page.

Below is information from some other posts I've made in the other threads:

"I use mine for a variety of purposes, here is some of the software I've found useful:

Oxford Dictionary Viewer (for the medical dictionary)

PDF+ - better than the inbuilt Adobe PDF (to view medical textbooks)

Salling Clicker - I do powerpoint presentations relatively frequently from my laptop and using the phone to control the powerpoint (via bluetooth) is nice, it also controls WMP and iTunes and I use that facility from time-to-time.

ScanR is quite good, but you really need to have a Wireless connection handy to make the most of it - it sends photos via the net and they are sent back as printable PDFs (with some enhancements to text quality), I've used it during group work as a way to capture whiteboard work and so forth.

ICVM 2 is good - voicemail manager and beepless call recorder (never pay Vodafone for retrieving your voicemail again!).

WWIGO is nice if you ever need to use your phone as a webcam - and its freeware!

If you like handheld gaming then VbagX is recommended (GBA emulator), Platinum Sudoku and Ludimate Sensible Sudoku are both good, C2Doom is nice (runs Doom WADS). And for you other crusty oldschool gamers look out for Bitmap Brothers classics, Chaos Engine already out, and Speedball 2 on the way soon! (and if you're a real crusty old gamer like me then Bubble Bobble is a must!)"

EDIT: Just thought I would let you all know that over at the psiloc forums one of their developers has gone on the record to state that they have resolved the issues with porting Total irRemote to 3rd Ed!

No word yet on release date, but they 100% confirm it will be released for 3rd Ed, and it seems as if this will be soon.

Well its hard to say as it depends on your needs but anyway here is the sample list of the really must have application, sorry if I miss something, ProfiMail, yBrowser, RPV, Agile Messenger, Fring, IVCM, nSysinfo, Sky Force reloaded also, maybe some kind of FSC, maybe something Private Call & Sms Guard or SmartMovie or Screenshot if you need it or WordClock, WorldMate, maybe ALON MP3 Dictaphone, Y-Tasks, Salining clicker, Wwigo, SpodTronic, ScanR maybe and so and so on.. .. .

And games like Sky Force reloaded, k-Rally, Super Miners, Global Race, C2Doom.. .. .

New version of Quake out:

Version 1.02 is out. Some fixes, and decided finally to release the QuakeWorld client also. Not due to massive amount of donations received, but because it makes life easier to make a new release by not having to get rid of the QW sources in the source tree. You can still make a donation to support the development though.

Changelog:

version 1.02 (11.10.2007)
- QuakeWorld client also available for download, keep in mind that not all servers
allow the standard QW client to play, but require a modified client with more features.
- keys can now be properly configured, all key on N95 are now usable (multimedia
keys can only be used by system applications)
- minimum volume is now 0.025 instead of 0.1
- the keyboard on E90 might be now usable aswell (haven't had a change to test this though)

Installation:

1 install pips_s60_wp.sis (if you allready had the other version running there is no need to install this again)

2 Install quake_v102_armv6_fpu.sisx

3 install quakeworld_v102_armv6_fpu.sisx

4 Open Qw (quake world)
