ok just bought new ipaq h2215 version.
the problem is when trying to set up internet on the ipaq...

ok my computer where im trying to host bluetooth from is connected through a router with DHCP enabled where i receive my ip, therefore i have automatic ip enabled. Therefore when i try to share the LAN connection for bluetooth, it changes the LANs dynamic ip to 192.168.0.1 (bluetooths required NIC) to be able to share the connection....but in turn this disables my connection to the router because i deviate off the dynamic ip it gave me...is there a way to make ICS not change my LAN ip but still share to the bluetooth NIC. I noticed in the bluetooth internet sharing guide for mine, it showed him have a static IP that didnt change when he clicked to internet share his connection, why do it change it for dynamic ips...
anyways full info is

bluetooth nic
192.168.0.1
255.255.255.0
my computer nic
192.168.1.102
255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.1.1 (router)
DHCP server 192.168.1.1 (router)

and yes ive configured the bluetooth software correctly and for the network access to accept internet connections in advanced config on bluetooth tray icon

what can i do!

ICS will change the destination adapter to 192.168.0.1... In this case it should be the Bluetooth adapter. Make sure you set ICS from the LAN adapter to your Bluetooth adapter.

You don't say what OS you're using, but Windows 2000 sometimes changes the wrong adapter. If this is the case you can manually set the 192.168.0.1 address on your Bluetooth adapter, and if ICS changes the LAN adapter by mistake just restore the previous DHCP configuration.

In your post you say the LAN gets an address 192.168.1.102. Is this in the range assigned by your DHCP server? Make sure there are no other machine/adapter using the 192.168.0.1 range because this will cause conflicts.

If you can't change this, try using NAT32.

on XP-pro and i did do ics with LAN for bluetooth and tried bluetooth for lan also. when enabling ics by right clicking the LAN connection the advanced then ICS, it brings a warning that it will change the ip to 192.168.0.1 , whats some things i can try to make sure the ics is working right, also what settings are default on the ipaq itself to be sure. and yes the 192.168.1.101 is the DHCP assigned ip to the NIC LAN im tyring to set as the ICS :(

There's no settings on the iPAQ to be changed. Just creating a new Bluetooth connection from the Bluetooth Manager is enough.

The warning about the IP address change is normal. It's just telling that the destination of the ICS will have the address changed. In this case it should be the Bluetooth adapter, and this is expected.

If it changes the LAN adapter, leave ICS enabled and then manually change the LAN back to normal and the Bluetooth to 192.168.0.1, entering the DNS server too. Do this in this order, because if changing the Bluetooth adapter first you may get a conflict.

You can use bridge, but in this case you'll need to have a DHCP server somewhere else in the network.
