My PDa can connect to my laptop, and I can transfer files, and I can control my laptop using VNC
but, I can't get onto the internet with it, and I can't ping other sites...I can only ping my laptop, and access my laptop

edit:
I get this message when I connect my PDA to my laptop using activesync, and the USb sync cable thing I got with it:
annot start communications with the desktop computer. The communcations port is not available. Another program may be using the port, or it may not be valid.
Quit any programs that may be using the port and reconnect. If the problem persists, restart your device using the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

why?

You get this message, and still manage to sync? Hmmm. Are you using a personal firewall on your computer? Perhaps it's blocking some of the ports ActiveSync will need to get to the Internet?

I can't sync, that's the problem... I download these things I want to install, but I can't because I need activesync, so it will install them on my pda

and, I followed one of the guides, and I'm not using activesync
and I'm using bluetooth, and I can't use bluetooth with activesync because it's being gay

Make sure your USB cable is not connected to a HUB, but directly to your computer. Uncheck the power management option on that USB controller. check any firewalls you have on this machine, and reboot the computer and soft reset the Pocket PC before trying to pair them.
