Argh, another issue with my windows 10 phone, and I must admit I'm getting close to giving up on the whole windows on a phone... I love the OS but wow these issues are a killer.

Basically what happens is text messages, data, etc seem to randomly stop working. This is the second time this has happened to me, and it's happened to my wife once too on a windows 10 phone.

The only way I notice is that the little time in the bottom of a text message indicating when it was sent stops appearing - or trying to browse the net in EI\edge shows "You're not connected".

The phone has now got into some state where it just can't send or receive texts or do anything that involves data. The only thing that works is incoming phone calls. Outgoing phone calls just say "Call dropped" after a couple of seconds.   I think when it happened last time I ended up taking the battery out in frustration after many attempts at fixing it (flight mode, turning off then on, soft resets, etc) and that finally kicked it into action.  This time though that's not working and I'm out of ideas.

Before I try a hard reset (*sigh*) anyone have any other ideas??

Hmm, and I can't seem to open the "Cellular & SIM" item in settings to check what my settings are.

are you running an Insider build, or the RTM software?

I've not run into those issues on any build i've run... but i saw someone else report that toggling the "data connection" fixed it in their instance.

RTM I believe - it's a dual sim 640 XL and I think was just updated to windows 10 when available as normal. Tapping the "Mobile data" item on settings seems to cause the whole phone to freeze now :-/

they sound similar to your issues.
