So one and a half years later and still no sign of it on the Lumia 735 in the household.  Has the windows phone 10 roll out been suspended to any phone that isn't a 950?  Has anyone received an OTA update from 8.1 to 10 at all, without having to join the Insider programme?

Dont know (care?) about the Windows 10 phone, but my Microsoft Lumia 640XL is currently running Windows 10, and gets the monthly updates when my computers do.

Currently trying to 'source' a 256GB microSD card for it, so it can replace my aging 160GB iPod Classic...

Everyone fell for the "converged platform" meme and nobody has delivered it and Satty realizes it's probably a waste of time pursuing it. Even Ubuntu who were professing to be in the lead on convergence haven't even produce their phone in any numbers and it appears to be going into oblivion quietly.

Yeah I was pissed off to find the Nokia lumia 635 I bought (on the understanding it would get the windows 10 update) was later renounced as it didn't have enough ram I never knew there were two version 1 with 1GB ram and the another with only 512MB of ram ( the one I managed to purchase) and 2 degrees just said tough cookies when I pointed it out

I have an ancient Lumia 925 that I have around to keep up with Win 10 mobile. It is receiving updates and is running 10 fine.
It is still my favourite mobile OS

Have you tried installing the "Upgrade Advisor" from the store to see if the update is available?

I also have a Lumia 735, and have not bothered about the Windows 10 upgrade. Been running Windows 8.1 quite happily.

Installed the upgrade advisor and it advises the Windows-10 upgrade is available, and has a checkbox to enable the upgrade to occur (maybe I disabled it in the past, so that is why it never upgraded OTA). So I can upgrade if I wish.

The next question is should I upgrade, given I have no issues running 8.1?

I had to add this to my phone to get the upgrade, and when it came it downloaded and installed without a hitch.  I didn't use the Microsoft insider, as I want my phone to just work(tm).

There were a few gains to be made with the Windows 10 upgrade, I cannot recall all of them, but I do know that the Windows Start screen was subtly adjusted.

Contacts has been renamed "People" (Which is annoying when you're already conditioned to "Contacts") - but I don't recall if it was like that in 8.1

If you have and use DriveNow (The GPS/Routing app) on 8.1, be aware that it's not supported in Windows 10 and was removed from the device in one of the updates.  ("Maps" replaces it and is adequate)

I bought the Microsoft Lumia 435 for about $75 a year ago. It is mainly used as a test phone but has proved to be very good. While it is very low spec it does have 1MB RAM which means that it does get Windows 10 Mobile while many faster phones don't. I guess Microsoft are doing the low-end phones last as it upgraded today - straight to version 1607.

I'm starting to look at jumping ship (again) back to Android, I'm finding with the few updates lately on my 640, that its getting slower, apps crashing at random and just generally app support is really starting to lack :( Even my wifes Galaxy S3 is more responsive than the 640 now....

I'll miss the "single platform" for everything (my phone, Xbox and PC all play nicely together) but unless something major gives WM10 a push, Ill be moving on...

I had a Lumia 640 with WP 8.1 and upgraded to the 650 with WP10. I preferred the 640. I posted about it on another thread, but basically, the bits that were missing, like Drive, I missed more than anything that was added. The hardware is fine, very similar, but WP10 was just a little step backwards.

Unless you have a particular app requirement for WP10, I wouldn't go out of your way to get it.
