Despite handling my greatly prized iMate with extreme care, the connector on my less than 1 year old device has become loose and (ugh!) inoperable. I've read on other posts that this is becoming more and more a common problem -- perhaps the weakest and most vulnerable aspect of the i-Mate.

All that said, does anyone know where/how I might have the connector repaired? I'm in the U.S., but would not hesitate to send it far, far away if I could find a reliable service/technician.

Where did you buy your i-mate? They should be able to tell you where to send in the US, unless you bought it overseas.

Agree, my connector started to melt while plugged in because the pins were starting to spread too far to get the connector easily into the slot. Caused all sorts of problems and even a total data dump. My warranty wasn't accepted because apparently the faulty pins had pushed an internal pin at an angle. I'm annoyed that imate's equipment is sub-standard and they won't accept responsibility,
