Hi

I have noticed that, periodically, my IPAQ 3970 spontaneously saves word docs with a .prg suffix that then prevents them being re-opened. I cant then access the document and I cant see how (on the IPAQ) its possible to change the suffix, or indeed, if this would help.

I was writing some notes in word on Friday that I very much need to recover...

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks

Bob

Never seen this before. In any case, if you have this document on your My Document folder, can you open the synchronised version on your computer?

On second thought (and after checking Google newsgroups), it seems this is a working file, not the real thing. It seems to be created while you're editing some files. Are you sure you haven't deleted the original one by mistake?

Anyway, try a soft reset, then open Word again and try opening the original document (if you still have it).

Hi

Thanks for the suggestions.

Soft resetting doesnt work, nor does

transferring the doc to the pc

removing the suffix via the remame process using activesync

And no, there were no alternative versions generated in the process which are still in word

but thanks for the ideas...

any other suggestions would be very helpful, not least to find out how this is happening and how to stop this happening again
