You have to install ActiveSync. On the first time it starts it will run Connection Wizard. It'll look for devices connected to a serial port or USB. At this moment, connect the Pocket PC to your computer. It should take a minute or so and it'll connect.

Nope. If the connection is ok simply wait. The ActiveSync routine may take a couple of minutes scanning all ports. It's started when the Pocket PC is placed in the cradle.

Now, there are lots of things that may cause problems. Is this connected to a USB port or to a USB HUB? Have you done a soft reset on the Pocket PC lately? Are you running a software firewall on your computer?

Is it a Palm or a Pocket PC? The thread started with a Pocket PC, but now you say it's a brand new Palm? Palm devices will not work with ActiveSync.
