We are running MS Live Communications Server, which makes use of Windows Mesenger 5.0
Where do I get a version of Windows Messenger that supports SIP, and will run on an iPAQ using Windows Pocket PC.

The Messenger on the Pocket PC platform will work with Passport accounts only, and there are currently no SIP compatible MSN Messenger that will run on a Pocket PC.

There are some SIP clients available for Pocket PC though, mainly from SJ Labs and XTEN but these do not have Messenger capabilities.

Live Communications Server 2005 (which is due to be released next month) will have SIP capability. (See article - http://www.microsoft.com/office/livecomm/prodinfo/2005preview/overview.mspx )
I saw a webcast yesterday on next version codenamed "Istanbul" instant-messaging client that will allow customers to choose from text, voice and video to communicate isn't due out until mid-2005.

umm gumboman, i think ChrisS is referring to that Live Communication Server and yes he knows it supports SIP. He was asking about SIP support on PPC MSN Messenger. Which apparently PPC MSN Messenger support .NET Messenger and not SIP.
