Hi,

I have installed fring on my N95, setup the fring account and entered my MSN details in.
When i run fring it loads, asks me to select a connection then loads what appears to be my contact list. It then closes and restarts
and keeps doing this in a loop, until i tell it to no look for a connection any more.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

What connection are you selecting? Fring needs a valid connection to be able to connect to the net.

If you are just using Fring for MSN/Windows Live I'd recommend using the actual Microsoft Windows Live Messenger, it's a far superior application.

All sorted now. Uninstall old version. Redownloaded and installed. All seems to be working.

I thought fring was better than Live?

Frings better as it integrates several IM/VoIP profiles in one package, if you're only using it for MSN there are better services. Check n95users forums and do a search, I recall a discussion around this topic a while back - I believe there was a consensus that several softwares were better than Windows Live Messenger.

Well, Fring worked for a couple of times but its back in an infinate rebooting loop.

I wanted to give it a go, but starting to think i should flag. I have re-install 5 times already

It's in the Nokia download menu on a lot of handsets but it depends what firmware your phone has (ie whether it's an import or not).

A quick Google search shows us this site which has everything.

Don't know, but shouldn't think it will matter as there will likely always be free alternatives available...
