I'm stuck with Telecom, maybe that's bad, but it's a fact. Commercial reasons.
I need the sync functions, as I keep my life on Outlook.
I had an Okta Agent. It frequently failed to sync, it locked up, I got sick of wasting time fault finding and gave it back.
They gave me a Nokia 6275i, and tol;d me Nokia sync would solve all my problems. Nokia sync failed to recognize quite a few of my appointments, Leading Edge said "Oh yeah, that happens", and I gave that back too.
Next was an Okta Boss, as the Agent was by now out of availability. The BOss nlasted a few days before I needed to soft reset, then hard reset. The only thing that stopped me from throwing it in the nearby river was economics.
So I've given that dog back, and I am considering just getting a phone to make calls, and using a diary.
So, is there a real solution? I have read on this site that WM needsa a reset now and again. Hell, if Toyota needed to crash a car now and again to make sure it kept working, we'd all be dead.
Any words of advice would be good. Is WM just more trouble than it is worth? Or is it the Okta issue?

Sounds like you're just having a run of bad luck.  I'm sure there's plenty of users here on Geekzone who use Windows Mobile devices daily, with no probs.

Personally, I use a Palm Treo v500.  At work, the management team use Okta Agents.  I've only ever had to troubleshoot them for relatively minor issues.

Hope you find a solution soon that works, as smartphones are just so damn handy!

It is really a love or hate situation, just like a PC you need to keep it maintained, search for programs online other than this forum for sktools, and oxios memory they both clean up .. I give my jasjam a clean every other week, and it really is running too sweet for me to upgrade the next upgrade I do would probably be a blackberry.

Edit: just to give you an idea what I do with my winmo:

Push email through hosted exchange 07
Browsing using Opera 8.5
Friendmobilizer for facebook
Twobile for twitter
Palringo for IM
SMS and MMS as usual
Youtube play for watching you tube on the go
Calls

Edit 2: also replaces my map in the car with Google map
also a lullaby machine for me before I go to bed
