My '72' is still blue. Most of it anyway. What I still have to be reminded of to save programs to a memory card. What I found out though is if I originally install the program to the card using the Palm Desktop installer and then register the product, putting the registration code also on the card in the program (Pocket Tunes in this case) the locked card not only keeps the program but the reg. code as well. When I put the card in my wife's 'Zire 31' it would play the music but only after displaying the dialog box telling the user to register the porgram after the trial period. What was really nice was, when my '72' crashed recently I thought I would be buying another reg. code. Not so, as I soon found out. I put back in all the basic info. owner, PIMs, etc. (manually as I don't have ready access to a newer computer). I reinserted the SD card with my copied or originally installed programs, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the 'Pocket Tunes' worked as before, after I put in the reg. code, but before the program was copied to the handheld. The 'Pocket Tunes' could not, however, be mapped to the hardware buttons until it was copied from the card to the handheld itself. So the lesson learned, for me anyway, is to install programs to the card first, then put in the reg. code where required before coping it to the handheld. Keeping the card 'locked' while in use in the device helps too. And whatever you do make a hard copy of the reg. code, scaps of paper notes or whatever works and keep them handy because you never know when you'll need them. Experiences like this coupled with the tidbits that I pickup on forums like this are really appreciated. I hope this proves helpful.
