I have been trying to update my rom to version 1.10 from the HP site using activsynch as advised by the site. Followed all the steps but contnually fails and get a white screen with 1.05 on it.
Could really do with this update as it gives WPA access for wifi which i need. Read somewhere that it could be vista stopping it.
Is there any other way of installing this ??

You have to ROM updates on older models through ActiveSync on a Windows XP machine, not WMDC on Windows Vista.

Probably not using the standard tools.
