I had an old Surface RT lying around.
So I figured I'd put linux on it, so I could put it to good use.
Not sure if I'm allowed to do this? But anyway, I did a write-up of the steps and outcomes on my website:

Very cool
I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup. Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.
Nice, thanks for that, managed to get it set up as well which makes the device somewhat useful. How do you find the performance, running geekbench 5 on it, it seems to be alot slower than similar devices I've got? I see EFI linux apparently has power issues and can't access L2...

Performance wise, it's clearly a ~10 year old Tegra CPU... I didn't expect much from it to start with, and it is for me more about the "getting it to work" than actual actively using it for a specific goal (at the moment)
I have been experimenting with Ubuntu, as it's supposed to support 3D graphics better, allowing for e.g. videos to play somewhat smoothly and not crash the device.
It's not a replacement for a full laptop, but for small things where a larger screen is handy, I found it "good enough".
