I have just read a post in another forum saying that the bluetooth on the 2210 is capable of 320Kbps but i'm lucky to get 5-9Kbps. Am i doing something wrong ? i have a class 1 dongle in my pc and i cant even stream audio from it once i get 3 steps away (using the network bit on resco). Anyone know how i can get faster speeds ? (i was thinking that maybe it was a power saving thing ?). Thanks
Lots of things can influence. First, for comparison, I've seen speeds of 40Kbps when copying files from my laptop to my desktop - or Pocket PC.
Depending on what connection type you're using it can have a different performance. For example if you use ActiveSync then there will be an overhead if ActiveSync is set to always synchronise.
You should get a better performance when using LAP or PAN. However it depends on environment noise (wireless LAN, microwave, DECT phones) and hardware implementation. For example, some devices implement the Bluetooth communications through a serial UART, which limits the speed - down from 720Kbps to a max of 115Kbps. I'm not sure how the h2210 is designed, so can't say this is the case.
Also, it helps if the Bluetooth adapter is not hiden behind the monitor, or under the desk fit into the back of your desktop.
Thanks for the quick reply ! i an sitting here atm with my ppc on my lap and my dongle 3/4 of a meter away with nothing between them except for air, i connected using the "network with" thing instead of activesync, went on resco, clicked refresh..... and....... it crashed my ppc, LOL. This is really annoying me, i just found someone else online reporting really fast transfer rates as well !! Can anyone help me ? :(
