What will be the recommended voice application for O2 XDA II to be able to read, reply, delete emails for a car while driving scenario?

i've tried Fonix VoiceCentral 2 and it works really well on PPC2003 but badly on Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC phone ed. After installation onto an i-mate PDA2, it gives a warning that says voicecentral might not work. I was able to start the app but the voice from the PDA2 is crackling and unclear. I think it might be hardware incompatibility. The next time the app is started again, it fails to understand any of my commands. Anyone tested this on an O2 XDA II?

www.equivox.uk.com exist but none of the emails work. Does the company still exist? Where can i get a new version of VOXit Mailer for trial? I'm very keen to test this software as it is compatible with O2 XDA (as claimed in their borchure)

MS Voice Command 1.5 has "Read emails" command but not as robust as the Fonix VoiceCentral 2 Or wasn't working at all. Got the perception that it works from http://www.windowsitpro.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/43504/43504.html

Any other recommendations? I'm keen to trial any other voice apps that serves emails. Thanks you :)

There's no Read e-mail feature on Voice Command. I use Fonix Voice Central on my Pocket PC Phone Edition without problems...

I was using it on the i-mate Pocket PC Phone Edition (same as O2 XDA II) and now on a Harrier (same as Verizon XV6600 CDMA EV-DO).

Hi Mauricio. Are you using Fonix VoiceCentral 3 on your Harrier or an earlier version?

Cheers

I did a search after reading this thread. http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=157638&productType=2 released a few days ago by the looks.

A worthy add-on for the Harrier? Now the BT seems to be stable (so far) I think it's time to try voice apps. I notice MS Voice Command is still not available to us down here (¿yet?).

freitasm,

after composing a messege in VoiceCentral, does the email get sent via Activesync at next synchronisation or directly through smtp? Is it possible to have the message sent immediately via smtp instead of the Activesync? Thanks.

I can't confirm it now, but my impression is that it uses the current Inbox seleteced.

In my experience it always used the Synchronised Inbox (ActiveSync), simply because I use this most of the time (OTA Always-up-to-date, so no need for POP3 configuration on my Pocket PC).

Ok, just tested it again now... Fonix Voice Central 2.0 always uses the Outbox of the ActiveSync mailbox.
