I am a fairly new to using PDA's and have been wading through all the posts. Here is my problem: I have a Dell Axim X50v. I have no problems synching my PC via the USB cable. (Ultimately I'd like to be able to use Exchange ActiveSync and sync directly to the Exchange server, but that's another post.) I am having problems, however, getting my WiFi to work. I've loaded Pocket Hosts and vxUtil on it. Following the "How-to ActiveSync over Wi-Fi", I've set it up and can successfully ping both my PC and the Exchange server.
I'm using a DLink AirPlus G 2.4GHz Wireless Access Point (DWL-G700AP). I go into the Dell WLAN Utility settings and click on the Network name and set it up to connect to Work. My network key is set to Authentication: Open and Data Encryption: Disabled. Following David's suggestion, each time I make change or even look at the settings, I have been doing a soft reset. I have also been turning off the WLAN and turning it back on. When I go into the Site tab in WLan Utility, my SSID shows that it is connecting to network and that the Signal is Normal. In my Config tab, the signal Quality alternates between Good and No signal, no matter how close to the Access Point I am. On the Advanced tab, I never see any change in the Network Info for Net Mask, Gateway, or IP address.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
