I bought an HP iPAQ hx2110 last week and ever since its screen stops responding so frequently (like 50% of the time) to the point that it has rendered the transcriber feature virtually useless. Is this a known issue with pocket pc's ? I'm a newbie and really need to know before sending my unit to HP for service.

Nope, this is not normal. I'd return this under warranty for repairs.
