This is really a Pocket PC question but since I'm using an HP iPaq 4705, I'll post it here.

Two questions really, both related to deleting items.

For some reason I have three copies of the Vindigo icon (Vindigo, Vindigo (2), and Vindigo (3) appearing on my "Start" drop down menu even though I don't have Vindigo checked at all on the menu utility in settings > menu where three copies of Vindigo are listed. (I have unistalled this application several times hopig to rid myself of the duplicate icons.)

The second deletion problem is a wmv file that runs for 5 seconds and stops, reverting back to the WMP 9 screen. When I try to delete this file I am prevented with a pop up message that the "process cannot acces the file because another process has locked a portion of the file."

Any suggestion as to wher eto look for a solution will be most appreciated.

Thnk you in advance.

Vindigo probably has a faulty unistall routine... Open File Explorer, browse to \Windows\Start Menu and you'll see the icons there. Delete from this folder and they'll be gone from the Start Menu. If you want you can Cut and Paste to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and the icon will then be moved to the Programs group (Start | Programs).

As for WMV file, if you really want to delete it, simply soft reset the iPAQ, and before you play the file on Windows Media Player, open File Explorer, browse to the location and delete the file. An alternative is to open Windows Media Player and manage the playlist, removing the file from the list.

Thank you for the prompt reply!

Your directions took care of the duplicate Vindigo icons. I feel much better now, thank you.

I also was able to delete the wmv file. You were right, it was cued on the Playlist. Now all I have to do is move that file back from my computer and see if it's a problem with the file or WMP. The file is a 2 hour video. I don't know if there is a limit to how much WMP can hold. I have plenty of storage in the iPaq's CF card.

I know my way quite well around Windows XP Pro, but when it comes to Pocket PC, I feel like a novice. Any good - and brief - manuals? Something like Pocket PC for Windows XP users?
