I am trying to get my m130 to hotsycnc with my compaq r300 laptop.. I ahve checked all my serial ports and all are working..I have downlaoded the latest desk top and still not working.. Can anyone help me please..really need the two to talk...

Would be possible the cable is faulty?

Perhaps a personal firewall software blocking communications (not common on serial connections, but it may happen depending on how the programs work).

I have tested the cable and is working all right..I will try to take down the firewall...i noticed that the computer will not give a choice of ports to choose from.. thanks for the reply and any additional thoughts you might have...Cape Reef
